New UK Interruptible Capacity ChargesFrom April 2008, our current “interruptible” customers will review and decide whether to continue participating in a new interruptible capacity scheme (effective from 2011) or whether to switch their sites to firm capacity. For those interested in the scheme, eligibility of their sites can be checked by Wingas UK. There is an auction process organised by National Grid where eligible gas end-users can make offers to be interrupted by National Grid in times of capacity shortages. These offers are based on the costs incurred for being “on call” for an interruption and during the actual interruption period. Clarifications on the new interruption scheme and the auction process are provided on the homepage of National Grid. Please find a presentation attached that provides further background and the capacity requirements of the different network operators in Britain. WINGAS will also clarify these in their “Gas Market Update 2008” on March 11th and March 12th in London.” |
